Founding Partners
Adam and Abigail are the founding partners behind Doughies; which started off as a community supported baking experiment from a suburban flat in Bournemouth, Dorset, England, and in a topsy turvy move is now based in Fort William, Scotland.
Baker’s Dozen Experiment
We started off with a project in community supported baking called “the baker’s dozen” experiment. Each week we baked 12 traditional loaves, for 12 local people, delivering them on a Saturday morning (by bike), for 12 weeks. The bread was made in accordance with the ‘Real Bread Campaign’ ( http://www.sustainweb.org/realbread/ ) with no artificial additives or preservatives in it. As the experiment progressed we shared the heady world of bread with our community. We told our doughie happenings via the blog as it unfolded. We are now on the road to setting up a bakehouse in Banavie area, Fort William – and our story continues…
